Welcome to the 2023 Writers’ Asylum: Experiential! Every Monday in May is a new challenge.
To successfully complete the challenge, write a short story of 1,000-2,000 words including the prompt and the criteria below.

Challenge #1: Synesthetic
Your character is looking for something. Describe their journey in search of this thing, place, or person, show us where they go and how they try to locate their goal. Tell us whether or not they are successful and what it means.
Your challenge is to do this without using any visual information at all. No colours, no light or dark, no visual shapes. Focus on the other senses, like sounds, textures, air movements, or temperature.
Your bonus challenge is to go full synesthesia and blend the senses even further. Let sounds have flavour, or tastes have edges. You still have to avoid (what would usually be) visual descriptions, though! The rules above still apply.
