Writing Goal Support

A bar graph tracking daily writing amount, with trend lines for the average words per day

We love to support our writers and their various writing processes here in the WordFam. We’re always on the lookout for tools that might be helpful to share.

Writing goals are helpful for many types of writer, providing accountability, encouragement, rewards, and pretty graphs! And so we’re delighted to announce the release of our very own WordFam Writing Goal Tracker!

Most of the tools available on our Resources page were custom-built for the WordFam. Our brand new Writing Goal Tracker is the same! Completely in-house and built for you. Our aim here was to support a variety of things, centralised to make it simple and easy to use. And just like all our resources, it’s completely free!

The first iteration of the tracker is now live. It supports the following:

  • Monthly goals. Set a goal for the month and go.
  • Flexible goals. Set your own number, pick what you want to track, like words, chapters, pages, or minutes. Whatever stage your story is in, you should be able to set a goal for it!
  • Multiple projects. Set goals for specific projects, or across all your projects. Whatever works for you!
  • Changing your goal later. Because life happens and we get that!
  • Lots of other stuff!

We’ll be continuing to expand and develop the tracker as our writers need. Got something you’d like to track that isn’t currently on there? Spot any issues with it? Random idea for fun? Let us know over on the Discord server!

Also don’t forget to join our Write on Squad on our Discord for support and daily reminders to update your goal progress.
