Wordfam Writing Extravaganza: It’s Almost Here!
WWE: Are you ready to wrangle words?
The start of this year’s Wordfam Writing Extravaganza (WWE) is fast approaching! It’s due to start on 1st July.
What’s WWE, you ask? It’s the month we set aside to focus on our writing. Set a goal, challenge ourselves, and see if we can surprise ourselves with what we can achieve.
As promised at the start of the year, we have moved our WWE challenge month to July as it’s a better time of year for most of us to crack on with our stories. That means you’ve got a couple of weeks to get ready to rumble!
You can set any kind of goal you like for our WWE. You have 31 days to write the first draft of a novel, redraft an existing project, or work on a series of short stories, to name but a few of your options. Your book can be 50k words or 150k, it’s completely up to you.
We have a host of things lined up to help you hit your goal! Come write with us, online or in person, as suits your schedule and location. Here’s just some of what we have planned:
- Words With the Fam – we’ll be catching up in person every Saturday through July somewhere in the Brisbane region. Check our calendar for locations and updates!
- Write Night – join us on the Discord server every Wednesday through July. We’ll start off with a check-in (similar to our Check-in events) and then we’ll be sprinting and body doubling to get those words wrangled.
- Daily Dares – 31 days, 31 dares. A new dare will go up every morning for you to use in your day’s writing! Grab the role on Discord to be pinged or keep an eye on the post here on the website.
July also features OHHOW‘s Weekend of Writing Wildly, in which you can jump onto a train of writing streams that runs for 50 continuous hours. It’s a great way to body double and work on your writing in company from all around the world!
